Charles Bradley

As Executive Director, Charles oversees the continual development and implementation of GPD’s vision, as well as providing strategic support to the organisation and ensuring the smooth running of its operations, finance and communication systems.

Charles also leads GPD’s engagement with the private sector, including its pioneering work with tech small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on privacy, security and free expression, and global engagement on key business and human rights issues. He represents GPD in the Global Network Initiative, a multistakeholder platform working to protect and advance freedom of expression and privacy in the information and telecommunications sector. In addition, Charles provides practical support to the Freedom Online Coalition (FOC) as a member of the FOC Support Unit.

Before joining GPD, Charles was the Development Manager at Artis Education, a creative education social enterprise that helps children achieve excellence through the arts. Here he led on a number of projects, including the implementation of Artis Impact, one of the most extensive and differentiated professional development programmes in the world, and the management of partner relationships across numerous stakeholder groups. His ongoing involvement with social purpose businesses stems from his keen interest in developing environments that ensure deeper, more sustainable impact within and across communities.

Charles has an MBA from the Design Business Institute, UCA, and is on the board of a number of organisations including Kidenza CIC and the Elia Ensemble.
