Ruby Khela

Ruby is the Project Officer for GPD’s Cybersecurity Capacity Building Programme, which aims to increase the number of cyber laws and policies that are developed in an open, inclusive, and transparent manner, and facilitates the effective participation of civil society in cyber policy debates. In this role, she supports the wider cybersecurity team as well as project partners in Africa, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region. 

Prior to working at GPD, Ruby was the Coordinator of a community legal advice centre, and managed the logistics for multiple pro bono projects. During this time, she helped to set up a new project that provides legal assistance and educational workshops on the law surrounding non-consensual sharing and publishing of intimate images online.

Ruby holds a Master of Laws from the University of Birmingham where she studied cyber law, transnational crime and legal responses to terrorism. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws from Queen Mary, University of London.
